Shaquwanda Henry’s goal for her clients (12 and older) is to provide a safe space obtain tools that will lead them to become the best version of themselves. Her goal is to empower clients to advocate for themselves as well provide compassion and understanding of each client’s experience and struggles.

Shaquwanda’s approach to therapy is client-centered. She is passionate about meeting her clients where they are and allowing them to have a voice in their journey. Shaquwanda aims to make sure her clients are heard in a non-judgmental space. Shaquwanda understands how challenging therapy can be and she is committed to guiding clients to their full potential in healing and growth. Shaquwanda desires to promote optimal mental health. She is an ally to the LGBTQA+ community and other culturally diverse populations.

Shaquwanda is a psychotherapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2009 and her Master of Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans in 2014. Shaquwanda has 10 years of experience in the mental health field which has allowed her to work in a variety of agency settings. She has worked with a wide range of clients including adolescents and adults with treatment focusing on anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management, family dynamics, grief, mood disorders, and life transitions.

In her therapy practice, Shaquwanda pulls from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families. When working with adolescents, Shaquwanda understands the complexity of the age group due to the developmental components and also encourages parental involvement while providing assistance with parent-child relationships.

Outside of work, Shaquwanda enjoys reading, especially thrillers and mysteries. She also enjoys live music, attending festivals with families and friends, being a foodie, and being the ultimate dance mom.

Payment and Availability

Insurance and Payment Info: In network with Humana, UMR and United Healthcare Commercial plans only at this time; Outside of these insurance plans, Mandy is private pay. For private paying clients, we can offer receipt for services so that clients may inquire about out of network reimbursement with their insurance. Full payment due at time of service for private paying clients.

60 minute session: $130.00
