Samantha Rink, MS, PLPC

Samantha primarily works with adults, teens, and children (as young as 4 years of age) in the areas of adjusting to change and loss/transition, self-empowerment, inner child healing, trauma, anxiety, depression and grief. With support and encouragement, Samantha believes her clients have the innate strength to discover a personalized path to healing and self-discovery. Samantha's therapeutic focus is in topics of mindfulness, compassionate acceptance, and psychological flexibility within a holistic framework. She enjoys working with clients struggling with disordered eating and body image. Samantha strongly subscribes to the interconnections of mental and physical wellness. Samantha enjoys working with creative mediums in addition to talk therapy. She also has education in Play Therapy courses, where creative play and sandtray therapy modalities can be used.

Due to the complexity and uncertainty that comes with our emotional experiences, they can often be overlooked, feared, invalidated, or simply misunderstood. Although Samantha specializes in these listed topics, she is open to many presenting goals and is flexible in supporting her client in wherever they may be in their journey. Samantha’s goal is to clarify and nurture that journey of healing with her clients.

Sam operates from a lens of allyship, advocacy  and intersectionality regarding human identity/diversity, including LGBTQ and BIPOC communities, among many others.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2018. She earned her Master’s degree in Counselor Education with a Mental Health concentration from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2020. She is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and is two years into the licensure process with the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselor’s Board of Examiners.

Outside of work, Samantha finds connection and fulfillment through painting, creating music, kayaking, and fostering dogs—preferably while sunset-gazing and with her adopted pup Billie.
