Kate(she/her) is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. She believes that the therapeutic process should be deeply collaborative, where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work toward goals that align with their personal values and ideals.

Kate’s approach to therapy is individualized and client-centered. She recognizes that each person has a unique perspective and life experience, and she tailors her methods to meet each client’s specific needs. Kate works with preteens, teens, and adults (ages 10 and up), helping them navigate a variety of mental health and life challenges, including stress, grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use issues.

In her work, Kate integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, and play therapy. She also incorporates a somatic, trauma-informed lens, especially when working with clients struggling with substance use.

Kate uses a harm reduction and polyvagal theory/nervous system informed approach to support clients dealing with substance use issues, meeting them where they are and helping them move toward healthier coping mechanisms without judgment. She is deeply committed to helping individuals create positive change, with a focus on both emotional well-being and practical life skills.

Kate is an LGBTQ+ friendly therapist and is experienced in working with clients across a broad spectrum of backgrounds. Whether you’re coping with anxiety, recovering from trauma, managing a life transition, or seeking support with substance use, Kate offers a warm and empathetic environment to help you achieve your goals and build lasting resilience.

Training and Experience
Kate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (2015) and a Master’s degree in Counselor Education (2018), both from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Kate has worked with a diverse range of clients facing mental health and substance use challenges, bringing a wealth of experience to her practice. She is currently expanding her expertise through advanced training in Polyvagal Theory and trauma-informed practices, further enhancing her ability to support clients in their healing journeys.

Outside of Therapy
When Kate isn’t helping clients achieve their goals, she enjoys spending time outdoors—whether chasing after her toddler, gardening, or indulging in her love for birdwatching. She finds peace in nature and believes in its healing power. Kate also enjoys baking cookies and appreciating her husband’s delicious cooking, making life as joyful as it is meaningful.

If you’re seeking a supportive, collaborative therapist who values your unique path to healing and growth, Kate is here to help you navigate life’s challenges and create lasting positive change.
