Kolby Finnie, MS, PLPC

Kolby Finnie is an empathetic and compassionate. He has a deep commitment to helping individuals (16 and older) and couples navigate the complexities of life. Kolby earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2018, and a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2024.  

Kolby brings a holistic perspective to his therapy practice and he understands that our lives are shaped by a complex web of relationships, social contexts, and personal experiences. His systemic focus allows him to consider these broader influences and work collaboratively with clients to explore how these dynamics impact their well-being. In his work with clients, he also utilizes a strength-based approach, believing that every individual possesses inherent strengths and potential that can be harnessed to overcome challenges. In addition to this, he has a philosophy of "meeting the client where he/she is" thus allowing the therapeutic process to be dynamic, and specific to each client's needs. Kolby strives to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or significant life transitions, he is here to provide guidance and support. Kolby's goal is to help you not only address the challenges you face but also to help you recognize and nurture the strengths that will carry you through them. He often uses the metaphor of a traffic director, who's there to point you in a safe direction, while you maintain total control and navigate through the struggles you face on this road called life.

Outside of The Therapy Garden, Kolby finds joy in spending time with his significant other and family, restaurant hopping, playing various video games, writing music, and playing basketball.
