Grace Bailey MSW, LMSW, RYT 200
Psychotherapist + Yoga Teacher
Specializing in trauma-informed therapy for Adults
Grace Bailey's (she/her) therapeutic goal is to empower her clients to establish a daily wellness practice that allows for their unique strengths, voice, passions, and overall well-being to emerge again. Grace prioritizes a person-centered approach where her clients become the experts of their stories and believes that when a compassionate and nonjudgmental space is created, healing is always possible. She is passionate about working with clients of all gender and sex identities struggling with complex PTSD & PTSD, personality disorders, depression and anxiety, eating disorders, and relationship struggles, but also supports adult clients experiencing a broad range of symptoms. She loves to work with folks looking to reconnect and nourish a healthy relationship with self, others and Earth.
Grace approaches trauma through a somatic, psychodynamic lens informed by the Polyvagal Theory and Yoga philosophy. She hopes to create a space where the client feels safe to explore and understand the language of their body. The once foreign language of the body then becomes a fluent language for the client. This newfound language becomes a guidepost for making healthy choices, forming healthy relationships, communicating assertively, and understanding what this "breath" is all about. Grace creatively incorporates trauma-informed yoga in the therapy room per request of the client. She is trained in Ecotherapy Level 1 and has completed the coursework for Level 1 of the Intuitive Eating certification process.
Grace earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2016 and her Master's degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University in 2019. Grace works in the capacity of a W-2 employee psychotherapist for The Therapy Garden. Her site clinical supervisor is Kathryn Dietzway, LCSW.
Outside of her time working, Grace prioritizes being in nature, which often involves camping, hiking, biking and gardening. She enjoys living for the simple things in life.
Grace is a co-leader of The Therapy Garden's Ecotherapy Team and facilitates monthly yoga classes and ecotherapy/nature-based events. View our events calendar for event time, location and details.
Grace is also a climate change aware therapist and enjoys supporting clients in coping with anxiety, grief, and any other feelings surrounding macro-level ecological stressors our world is facing.
